A Nepali Feast at Phayul
Tashi deleg ‘Nauts!
All that’s in the news lately has us wanting to run for the hills. Or to heights we should say, Jackson Heights to be specific. Preferably to a host country that has both phenomenal food and a low gun-per-capita ratio. That’s right, this month we’re heading back to the roof of the world, that Tibetan mountaintop restaurant, Phayul, where arms are just for making Momos.
The husband and wife team of Chime Tendha and Dawa Lhamo know all kinds of tricks for dispelling your winter woes and warming your hearts. They’ll fill you up with tasty stinky Tibean soup, stuff you with tongue and tripe, dumplings and blood sausages. You’ll have to bring your own liquid comfort (if you can find it, get some Lhasa Beer.)
So, let us be your sherpas for the night and let’s get outta this low and head to the top of the world. And bring some friends, because who the hell knows what’s going to happen next week. Or the week after that.
