An Iraqi Feast at Tanabel
Marhaba Gastronauts!!
What an awesome dinner we have for you this week. Where to even begin? Tanabel, a small refugee powered dining events company is hosting us this month and they’re putting on a special Iraqi offal dinner especially for the Gastronauts. You see, Hannah Goldberg’s company employs Middle Eastern refugee women with exceptional talent and expertise in the kitchen, pairs them with a chef, and hosts dinners and cooking classes. Maha, Iraqi matriarch, Chefugee, and our co-host is especially delighted to cook ‘real food’ for Americans and show off her county’s Gastronaut-worthy cuisine. Just look at her menu. You’ll never have another meal like this, ever. Oh, and chef Hannah knows the absolute best Hallal butcher in Brooklyn. We’ve tasted their lamb and it was phenomenal. So, get ready for Saturday night. Dress for a summer garden party, gGrab a date or three, and brush up on your conversational Middle Eastern geography and history. This will be an amazing dinner. All the money is going straight to Tanabel, so we’re running this event through Eventbrite. That means no cancellations, unfortunately.
