Back to Buka for Bat Snails

Gastronauts!

Did ya miss us? Yes, we took a little time off last month, but now we’re back. And our first stop is to head out for some Nigerian. We’ve got these friends at Buka in Clinton Hill who’d like to cook us up some traditional Nigerian fare. Chef and owner Lookman is particularly excited about making us some Kanni, you know, the Cirina forda Westwood larvae straight off the shearbutter tree…

But don’t worry. If your date can’t handle the larvae, there’s plenty of other phenomenal food to go around. Just look at the menu below. There’s something for everyone. Hot-as-hell goat head stew. Cow feet. Shrimp. Soup with fish. And then of course, there’s always the delicate Nigerian escargot, the giant bat snails…

So, Come for the larvae, stay for the bat snails, costume or no costume.
