Fred Hua's Amazing Vietnamese Kitchen in the Back of Zekes Bar
Gastronauts!
It’s August in New York, and it’s muggier out there than a slow boat ride down the Saigon river to Ho Chi Min City. We wondered, what do the locals do there to pass a steamy summer night? Probably grab a date, hop on a scooter, find a nice place, pull up a stool, and eat crazy street food and drink beers. We thought that might be the perfect kind of outing for us this month, too: Head over to see our friends at Zekes Bar, where our amazing chef and friend Fred Hua has put together a drinking-minded person’s menu inspired by Saigon street food. Pull up a stool, and eat some snails, frog legs, and all kinds of deliciousness in-between gulps of ice cold beers. The perfect summer night for a scooter ride.
So, we’re not gonna beat around the bush here. Just grab a date, hop a scooter (Revel?) and let’s party Steamy Sweaty Saigon Style with some Vietnamese An Choi, or drinking food. You know it’s gonna be hot. It’s a small place, so RSVP as fast as you can.
